There’s some serious questions of the policing of the Shell protests in Mayo that are going unanswered. The Irish Times again mentions today:

The Department of Transport confirmed on Friday that no order had been issued for a 500 metre exclusion zone for the Solitaire, even though gardaí­ have said they are policing an exclusion zone “passed by the department”.

It is one of many questions which related to the Gardai in north west Mayo which remains unanswered. The protesters call the Gardai “Shell’s cops” and the force its self isn’t helping this image.
